Give back to the world

A couple of days ago, I blogged about Passports with Purpose, a travel blogger-driven fundraiser for Heifer International, a nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate hunger and poverty around the globe. With an entire community of travel bloggers behind this inspiring initiative, it wasn’t enough just to write a few words about it. I decided to participate by contributing a raffle prize.

And here’s what I’m providing to a lucky winner who makes a donation: a set of five Lonely Planet titles, providing a mix of inspirational and practical for the traveler. Here they are: The Travel Book, Best in Travel 2009, The Big Trip, Lonely Planet 2009 Wall Calendar, and Travel Journal.

But don’t order yet! There are more incredible prizes on the prizes page. Before you make your raffle donations, be sure to check out all the other great stuff you can win. The proceeds go directly to Heifer International.

Once you’ve selected your prize – or prizes – go to First Giving to make your raffle donation. For each ten dollar donation you make, you’ll be entered into the raffle for the prize you’ve selected. Heads up: Be sure to enter your email address and the prize you want to win in the comments field, or we can’t notify you if you win! There’s more information on the First Giving page. The founders will pull winners and notify them via email on December 30th.

Good luck for a good cause!

Howdy. I want to drop you a quick note to express my thanks. I’ve been following your blog for a month or so and also have picked up a huge amount of good information as well as enjoyed how you’ve set up your blog. I will be planning to operate my personal weblog even so feel its too general and I wish to focus more about scaled-down subject areas.
