Glimpses of Thailand

I returned from Thailand yesterday afternoon, my trip cut short by the protests. As I sort through the many impressions, I thought I’d share some moving images instead of words.

The first video below was shot on the khlongs (canals) of Thonburi, on my first evening in Bangkok when I took a longtail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River. The second was taken from a tuk-tuk one night in Chiang Mai, going back to my hotel from an encounter with Buddhist monks. Both videos feature an evening chant I recorded at a temple in Chiang Mai (thanks for working your magic, Hoji!). I hope you enjoy these glimpses of Thailand.

thailand is great, and the night market at chiang mai my favourite in the world. So big, charming and interesting…

I'm sorry your trip was cut short by the protests. I was going to ask if the western news coverage of the protests was a tad sensationalized, but from reading blogs, such as yours, I'm guessing it is not.

Thanks for these great little tastes of Thailand! Keep them coming!
