Global Glimpses: Black River, Jamaica

In winter 2007, I joined a friend who was researching a guidebook to Jamaica for a two-week exploration of the island. I loved (and hated) many things about Jamaica but one experience in particular stood out.

It was the pitstop we made on a boat trip through crocodile-filled mangroves of Black River, to have delicious crab backs from Sister Lou’s riverside shack. And that’s Sister Lou above, smiling right into my camera.
