Passports with Purpose

Sometimes a tiny effort means the world and an amount of money small to us makes a huge difference to someone else. I find it moving when people with practically nothing, in a material sense, are happy to share the little that they have. This has occurred many times on my world travels and it’s always humbling. So how about those of us lucky enough to be able to travel give a tiny bit back?

Here’s how you can do that easily. Four fellow travel bloggers based in Seattle just started an initiative to help raise money for a global charity project, Heifer International. The initiative is called Passports with Purpose and it raises funds for this development charity through a raffle that will run through Christmas.

See what they say at Wanderlust and Lipstick: “Heifer represents the best of what travelers can hope to accomplish when they travel – it oversees over 800 projects in 50 countries; has been working for more than 60 years to end world hunger; and provides animals and training to help families become self-sufficient and overcome poverty. Just $20 (the cost of two raffle tickets!) provides a flock of chicks that will generate eggs AND income to a family.”

Visit Wanderlust and Lipstick for more information on how to get involved. It’s just a click away and feels great!

That’s the kind of article I definitely like to read, in these times of selfishness.
Congratulations for the post, Miss Mutic.
Maybe we still can change the world, after all.

Isn’t this a great idea? I’m participating too and my prize is a food tour of Harlem, which I’m sure you can appreciate.

I want to win your prize and go on a food tour of Harlem. 🙂
