MOROCCO ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS
There are many destinations around the globe where you can find adventure; Morocco is no different. A must for any budding adventurer, Morocco holidays offer a mix of breathtaking scenery, bustling culture and long history. Morocco acts as a crossroad between Europe, the Middle East and Africa, making for an interesting medley of culture, food and people. The landscape that the country provides is bound to get any explorer or adventure lover excited. The mountains, gorges and rocky fortresses are excellent for trekking holidays, as you follow trails through Berber villages. The Sahara Desert is also great for desert tours.
Some example adventure holidays are:
The Kasbah Trail Starting at Casablanca and Rabat, you will head to the historical cities of Meknes and Fez. Once you have soaked up the stunning architecture, you will visit the pilgrimage site of Moulay Idriss, Roman ruins at Volubilis and then the Sahara Desert. On a camel ride, you will take in the rolling sand dunes and views until you stop to overnight at a Bedouin camp. The next day, you will head west via the Todra Gorge and onto the Valley of the Roses. Once there, the group stops for two nights in a Berber village allowing you to explore the surroundings and the Atlas Mountains. From this point, it’s on to the picturesque Ait Benhaddou Kasbah before crossing the Tizi-n Tichka pass to the end of your adventure, Marrakech.
Mount Toubkal Participants on this activity holiday will start their adventure in the vibrant city of Marrakech. After exploring the alleyways of the medina and the maze-like souks, the group will take a short drive to the Atlas Mountains. Once at the mountains, you can explore various trails and villages by foot. The next stage of the tour is the ascent to the Summit of Mt Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. The two-day trek has an overnight stop at Neltner. Once the group reaches the summit, they will be able to witness some amazing views of the Sahara Desert and the Atlantic Ocean.
There is a wide variety of adventure and activity holidays that you can have in Morocco. So next time you are thinking about a destination for your travels, why not consider the spectacularly diverse country of Morocco. With sand, sea and snow, it has something for everyone.
Ah…this was the part we missed when we went to Marrakech. Our little one was too small to participate, so we made a vow to return to Morocco and do Toubkal, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, and of course the Sahara (my dream!). Can't wait!!
